Anybody got a good reference for MS standards? We have to do an hour every two years. The young surveyors (< 5 yrs) have to have one every year. A bit of an overkill, imho, but nevertheless, it's the law.

I used them in 2010. They were informative and it wasn't just a rush job, at least then. I used Jim Thorpe last year, but can't find his website today.
Jimmy,
Unfortunately, McKissock (or Red Vector) doesn't offer any courses for MS standards of practice.
I attended a seminar from Jim Thorpe a few years ago. I had forgot about him, but I wasn't able to locate his website, either.
I've been looking around, and SurveyPDU has a 4 pdh course for $49. That's probably what I'll do if I can't find anything else.
thanks,
JT
I used PDHOnline this year. It was $89 but I was able to complete the course online so it was convenient. I recommend it even though its a bit more money.
That community college I used to work for in Tupelo has a spring and fall one day seminar on various subjects for both engineers and surveyors. You can earn about seven hours twice per year. Normally, I am the guy that gives the one hour of ethics in the spring and one hour of technical standards in the fall for those who need it to meet the Mississippi Board requirements.
We already had our fall meeting back in October. It will be sometimes in April 2014 before we have another meeting. Contact the continuing education people at the Belden Center in tupelo to be put on the mailing list.
I hope you are having a great and busy year. Merry Christmas!:-D
Harold,
Yes, it's been a busy year. I usually get the fliers or an email about the one day seminars at the community college. There was a seminar Saturday hosted by MAPS, but it was too far for me.
thanks, jt
