I've been watching for a reasonable (aka dirt cheap) copy of Water Boundaries by Cole. One popped up recently and I snatched it up. Only problem is, this is by Flushman. Same title, same publisher.
At first glance it looks like I got a decent book at a killer price, but I bought this to prep for California. Is anyone aware of differences between the two? Do I have a legitimate excuse to buy the Cole book?
I think I read about half the Flushman book, Demystifying Water Boundaries.
A lot of it is about Delta Meadows south of Sacramento.
"Water Boundaries - Demystifying Land Boundaries Adjacent to Tidal and Navigable Water" is applicable to California.?ÿ
Ask Evan Page who has taught water boundaries in California and used to work for the State Lands Commission,?ÿ until recently moving to Idaho.?ÿ He has a great handout about water boundaries in California and is all you will need for the exam.
I think he is getting ready to sit for the Idaho exam.?ÿ Maybe you could provide each other insight on the individual exams. If you can't find his info on here, send me your contact info and I'll email it to him.

@la-stevens Thank you! I will find his contact and reach out. Anyone else wanting studay material tips for Idaho let me know...
Water boundaries are not the same for all states.?ÿ
@frank-willis That is why I'm looking for something with more 'California' focus. I've found it best to be familuar with the specific reference called for by the licencing authority.
George Cole's book is technical instruction for surveyors mainly based on the lines that divide sovereign land from cadastral land. Just by reading the overview for Flushman's book it appears to be more pseudo-law interpretations of the cadastral land that abut sovereign lands.?ÿ?ÿ
@thebionicman I can also say Evan's handout helped me a ton on the exam, I don't do water boundaries, so it was all new to me. I took his LS Prep presentation at the CLSA conference a few years ago and it was well worth it. I'd offer them to you, but I have already passed them on.

Good luck!
