FMJ or JHP?
FMJ based on availability.
FMJ is a product of nations trying to be humane with the effects of being struck by a small arms projectile, there is some penetration value in using FMJ but in anything less than 30 caliber does not amount to much. JHP is designed for a humane kill by releasing all or most of the energy into the body of the target, it does this by rapid expansion of the projectile and the hollow point aids in doing that and controls the folding back of the jacket. The FMJ and the JHP are designed with two completely different objectives in mind. If I want a quick kill or I want to inflict a disabling wound that will require much medical attention to survive, I will use the JHP. On the other hand, if you are engaged in combat and caught using dum dums, your odds of surviving capture are very slim.

I have a stock of FMJ and JHP for my AKs. My ARs will eat FMJ and Jacketed Soft Point so I have a pile of each.
FMJ for practice. JHP or JSP for SHTF. Steel Core for the Brown Coats kicking down the door.

This whole thread has been slightly (not entirely) over my head, but I think that what you just posted, R.J., was probably pretty darn funny.

Yeah..I really don't want to come across like an atheist or.
..anything, but I really don't believe the zombies are gonna' even take notice of you if you're planted behind the Beer Leg screen only posting once every four or five hours.
I'm not any expert here either, I think i'll just wait for one of the resident zombie experts to chime in for a ruling on this one.
I'm more of a creature of opportunity. To that end, I'll fire down range anything I have. JHP, BT, FMJ, AP, et cetera. 🙂

Me... I am shooting what I have...probably go with FMJ for Zombies and keep the JHP for targets that shoot back...
A good machete works on zombies too...as long as you don't mind getting close.
