Mrs. File put beans on to soak last night for Ham and ham'n beans for tonight. The bag was still on the counter this moorning. It cracked me up.
I'd sift those beans with a couple different size sifters.
I would also think that the specific gravity(if that's the right term), for the beans and the rocks would be quite different.
That reminds me of some foolishness with which I was involved about 40 years ago. Our rental farmhouse had several cherry trees that produced like crazy that year. We were extremly poor so harvesting all the free fruit made economic sense. We canned cherries til we were red in the face and everywhere else. We became so tired of pitting them that we decided to simply can the remainder with the pits still in them. Trust me when I tell you that eating a pie made with cherries with pits in them will greatly lengthen the time required to eat a slice of pie.
Mom made a cherry pie once and learned that the term "unpitted" doesn't mean the pits were removed.
What was funny with those instructions?
