Yes we have no bananas????
Well, Strawberry season has come and gone. Now it??s Banana season. The pic shows 20 off a bunch of 101. One of my employees grows and shares them with the office!
In Florida they??re called Bermuda Bananas. In actuality they are originally from the Canary Islands and are called Canary Bananas. Us crackers just call them bananas because they look like a banana. (we call cows horses too) They average about 7-9? long and put the store bought ones to shame. They are perfectly sweet and taste incredible. Simians go wild for ??em. That??s partly the reason for the growth of wild Rhesus Monkeys that escaped during the filming of Tarzan movies at Silver Springs. ?????ÿ
A local school sold Florida strawberries as a fund raiser.?ÿ We bought a flat and I sliced and froze half of them.?ÿ They sure were better than what we get at the local grocery stores.?ÿ Now if I can just find some of those 'nanners.

Asian markets have bananas of all sizes and you can usually get a whole stalk if you ask them.
SWMBO brings in several varieties from about 4in long to well over a foot long to make her banana soup, which is very good.
I don't tell her that nothing in the world of bananas compares to a well made banana pudding.

I read the article and agree. I have always wondered how in the heck they are profitable being so cheap. At our local Publix they are usually $0.69 cents a pound.....

The closest store where I can buy bananas is a Target within walking distance, and their standard price is $.49/lb.?ÿ
The store where we buy more of our groceries usually has the national brand for $0.59 or $0.69 and the store brand for $0.49?ÿ However, there it is rare to find them green enough to not be overripe before I finish a small bunch.?ÿ I eat one almost every morning with my cereal, but my wife doesn't eat many.
Pedanticism: "$0.69 cents" is at best redundant, and seems like a nonsensical combination.
