Went to the bank downtown , the drive thru. Waiting to proceed so I decided to check phone for emails.
The wifi connection list popped with a lot of selections and I saw a lawyer that I know but I noticed one that said "FBI surveillance van" with a strong signal. Hmmm looked around and saw a van but it did not look FBIish but there was a blacked out window SUV nearby.
Never had that happen before.
Happy thanksgiving everyone

Shades of Hub Northing!
I've seen quite a few variations on the FBI theme with regard to naming one's WiFi access point. I assume that all of them are bogus.
So many people name their Wi-Fi networks "FBI Surveillance Van" as a joke that it would be a perfect cover for a real one
I currently use a Nighthawk 1900, you can change the router name to anything you want. Where I live I have seen some weird host names like "US SECRET SERVICE", "Aliens on Earth", "POLICE DEPARTMENT",
and others I can't mention here. I thought all routers were "name changeable".?
I know longer name mine, you have to manually enter the name to even get to the p/w entry, no real FBI van is going to broadcasting either.
SHG
Having two wifi setups mine have simple names, Data & Net and a password that is near impossible to remember.
Mine is called WeWillHackU.
When I setup the wifi for my mother-in-law (RIP) years ago, I asked her what she wanted to name it. She said, "f*** off", so I called it that.
