There is apparently a Mini Cooper rally here this week and they all got together for a grand auto promenade downtown. Over 100 of them all told. Here's the tail end of the procession. Silly little Brit cars always make me smile.
Not survey chariot worthy in my opinion
I worked out of a 1979 Chevrolet Chevette for a few months. I couldn't hurt it. It was already little more than a tin can with tires. It was a stick shift, of course. If you got careless, you would be holding the entire shifter in your hand. Putting it back in the right place was a very complicated trick. A much more complicated trick in the dark.
So, I'm guessing the "smart" cars make you roll on the ground in laughter (as well they should).....
Around here, I would be downright terrified to ride in a smart car (too many aggressive drivers around here). Not even enough room in the cars for two "normal" sized people (shoulders rubbing). Plus, there are cars 2x the size or more that are rated at better gas mileage.....
About the funniest thing I ever saw was a "smart" car in a parking lot.... with a huge wind up key on the back. Of course I had to try it to see if that was the actual propulsion source......
I went to Corvallis on Tuesday, met a few of those EB on US 20, now I know the rest of the story!
Was there any being pushed, or did they make it to the end of the parade on their own power 😀
SHG
saw a smart car here last Sunday that had a Roadrunner decal with "Beep Beep" lettering also.
Knew a woman in New Orleans that had a Morris Minor woody wagon. It had left hand drive also. It was the only in the city.
swmbo likes the Mini Coopers but also has said that she likes the new litte Fiat 500.
She said that she saw a local ad that you can lease one for $99/month
The proper way to drive a mini.
