Web nanny

With a teenage boy in the house I use K9 at home. I've tested it a few times to see how well it works and so far no problems. If you need it for yourself have someone else enter a password.

I actually tested quite a few of the free ones and liked K9 the best. Some made the computer really slow, some would actually show the "offending" web page for a few seconds before leaving, and some were not very thorough at blocking out stuff.

K9, by far, worked the best of all the ones I tried, and like was said above, it's customizable, where you can put in a password to allow some sites for your kids, for a set period of time, or customize it by age group, etc.

We have K9 at home also, and it functions well.
They do have a filter for the smartphones too.

I figured out how to have my old Linksys router block the URL I want blocked for one PC that I want blocked.

It's not very intuitive but I figured it out.

I need a new router with better controls.
