Sorry to hear that. I lost my rough collie of 14 years to a stroke back in Feb. She was like a daughter to me and I miss her everyday.

I feel your pain, Ted!

Teddie
It's too bad that dogs and cats don't run the world. Friends like them are hard to find.

I have a cat that's been with me FOREVER that is starting to have the signs of renal failure. A common last sign. It will be devastating.

My condolences to you on a friend who gave love without limits.

TM

TEDD,

How are the other animals taking it?

Years ago we had our "Last Cat" slowing down with medical problems.

Our daughter brought us a kitten and we were certain the old goat would not tolerate it. Not true, he became playful and perked up and had 2 more years before it came to an end. Our new "Last Cat" stood station at the back door for 3 days waiting for his return. That was harder to take than making the choice.

Condolences

Paul in PA

Sorry to hear that Ted. Kinda been there and done that too. We just got a Bassett Hound. He's 13 week so far and we've both become very attached. Having a pet is sometimes the best thing to have. But it is sad when they have to be put down regardless of what day.

Best to ya

That's sad, Ted.

We've made our share of decisions to put pets to sleep, never an easy one.

My condolences Ted.

Some years ago I had to put down our dog after 18 great years. I know how it feels.

We've got five buried on the small rise next to our house. Sad occasion each and every one. Luther, Jax, Elvis, Mugsie, and Tawna. There would be a sixth, but she wandered off blind and lame never to be seen again. We suspect the coyotes got her.

Digging the hole, is the hardest part, it brings back memories of other pets, but those memories help get you through the next part, filling the hole back in.

Take good care of your girl, plant a nice flowering bush on top of her and she will always be there.

Animals grieve for lost loved ones just like us, letting them say their goodbyes imprints to them they are gone. You demonstrate your wisdom (and kindness) yet again.

Owls got one of our kittens about two weeks ago, the momma kitty went nuts for two days looking for him.
