Years ago, north of Klamath Falls, Or., a boulder like that rolled down the hill and landed on top of a car driving a highway speeds. Killed them instantly.
There are debris fences along that stretch of road now.

I was driving through Clear Creek Canyon a few years ago, in my Dodge extended cab. A stone the size of a golf ball, which I never saw coming, came flying through my driver's side, extended cab window. I am here to tell you that the sound of exploding glass 12 inches behind your head will wake you right up, and KEEP you awake for a long time.

I like to ride my motorbike near there, scary thought getting hit by something like that!
