U of Kansas ~ How to use a Digital Theodolite
Sorry, I couldn't make it though the whole thing because my eyes teared up from laughing. Or was it from shaking my head from disbelief. The comments are kind of funny too. Regardless, I can't believe the college allows that to be on youtube.
Isn't a certain Holy Cow one of those Jayhawkers? Go show 'em how its done there Mr Cow...:-P

So the University of Kansas sets up a program to train special needs students to set up a theodolite and all everyone can do is make jokes at their expense, nice 🙁
U of Kansas ~ How to use a Digital Theodolite
What, 'nice'... huh? It was hard to take serious IMHO, and I think somebody put it up as a joke. At least I hope so. It could have been put up there from a student from a competing college with a similar program. Or perhaps a disgruntled graduate who couldn't find/keep a job because they didn't learn anything - especially something simple like how to set up an instrument.
So yes, if I was on the KU marketing/recruitment board I'd see to it that it got removed. If people pay tuition to get taught those procedures, something is wrong. Nothing against KU, I'm sure they're a great school. But....

One of the other videos on that page seemed to follow the exact same procedures......literally looks like they used the same script.
Oh my! As an FNG myself I had to laugh at using a plumb bob in setting up the instrument... You have an optical, use it. I did enjoy the stepping in of the legs repeatedly. Oh well!

Ok, I lose. I think it is real, or at least was real at one time. God help us all.
Here is Part Two of the extended program, which I'm sure will be easily grasped by those special needs students who made it through Part One....:-P

I had to stop watching/listening also. Too painful. I wonder who actually reviewed that for public use? Obviously not Engineering Faculty. I hope.
Someone tried hard, though ...
