I'm trying to head off any problems (4 years late) before my one computer still running Windows Mobile Device Center dies and I have no way to communicate with my Topcon FC-500 running Magnet Field.

1) I haven't been able find a replacement for Windows Mobile Device Center since they quit allowing it's use with Windows 10. I hope somebody has found a replacement for it. Can you tell me what you're using?

2) If not, I've figured out how to transfer TO the collector with Blue Tooth but haven't been successful transferring files FROM the unit using Blue Tooth. Please let me know the secret.

3) I haven't been able to connect the unit to my network via WiFi. If you're using this method please explain how.

I figured this has been discussed over and over but I haven't been able to find anything on it yet, if you could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated. Haven't had a problem yet with the computer running Windows Millennium but all we use it for is downloading right now and would like to free up the space.

Thanks?ÿ

I use Windows Mobile Device Center on my Windows 10 computer to transfer my data collector with SurvCe on it.

When we had Windows 10 forced upon us we noticed WBDC wouldn't connect to our data collector anymore. It was then that I started researching the issue and on the Windows help site that they were disabling it for some Windows 10 types for security concerns. I tried unloading it and reloading it on 3 different Windows 10 machines to no avail.

Try loading it on your Windows 10 machine again, but set it to run in Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) compatibility mode. It's been working fine on the 2 Win10 machines in our office.
