I guess I'm just lucky enough that my failing eyesight and deafness don't dampen my motorcycle riding. It's a Zen kind of thing...or maybe the Force is just with me. I do have a few friends that have retired their scooters...but for me...I guess I'll quit the day they shut the lid on me.
This was an inspiring 3 minute video:

Let's Ride Motorcycles!
6 years ago an 80+ driver pull out at the last minute and I have not rode after the 13 screws and a plate in the wrist and a total hip replacement. A while back I was looking at the cost of long term care insurance and decided a motorcycle was less money and would be a whole lot more fun. It might even reduce or eliminate the amount of time needed in a nursing home. Old age will eventually catch me, but it is going to have to catch me. I am looking at the Spyder as I don't trust my hip with a two wheeler. This post is reminding me how much I have missed riding.

My 75 year old BIL has probably climbed on his last bike. Being 10 years older than me he was always the Cash Boys' inspiration and mentor when it came to two-wheeled freedom. He doesn't like not riding one damned bit. He has argued with his wife and the doctors for years now and some balance issues look like they may ground him for good.
I need to email him some Spyder info....;-)
I've had my Ducati for nearly a quarter of a century now.
It is kick-start only model (82 MHR)
When I can no longer get it running I will have to put it aside for my yet-to-be grand-kids and move to something with an electric leg...
