Three points I'd like to make. I don't want to start three threads; although that might be more appropriate, I don't want to be a loud mouth.
1. "Idiot" should be a banned word. The conversation always goes to hell once someone starts throwing that word around.
2. It's pointless to argue with Kent. He never gives up and he's usually right.
3. Beer Leg Book Club related: I'm now through book 2 of Cormac McCarthy's border trilogy and two things come to mind: 1) he keeps writing the same book (albeit a good book} over and over; not just talking about the trilogy; and 2) I don't speak Spanish so paragraphs of a foreign language in an English language book are annoying to me. Other than that... well I did have to take a break and read Christopher Moore's "Fool" to relax for a while.

Yes, I certainly try to be, but that doesn't mean I'm not willing to at least consider a well-made argument to the contrary.
(A slightly tardy "happy birthday" to you, by the way.)

Very gracious, thank you, Kent. I was a little freaked until I realized my birthday is in my profile.

I second that!! Happy Belated Birthday!!
PS: You do NOT look your age. Not even close. Oil of Olay? Good genes? Not married?? LOL!! 😉
Yeah, but how 'old' is that picture?

And the same belated wishes from me.
Take care,

Maybe if there is ever one made, we can see your willingness in action. 😀

And same here.....happy birthday PC.
Kent appears to think before posting. That is a huge advantage in any argument/discussion!!

Oh, it is always there, waiting to spring into action when needed. The key phrase, though is "well-made argument". Sadly, a good many of the arguments offered in support of a proposition don't make it out of triage.

Thanks all for the birthday wishes; you made me feel very good:-). The picture is almost exactly 1 year old, taken on the occassion of the birth of my 4th grandchild, also, Angel dear, I am most definitely married. I actually think it helps, don't you?

Maybe if you would have an argument with yourself sometime, you would get a chance to pass out the compliments. I often have them with myself, but all I hear are those dumbass arguments that can't make it out of triage... so I guess I know what you mean.

Well, it's not as if there are really great arguments to be made pro and con on any technical matter. If you like, though, you can post a series of threads arguing against the use of coordinates of any sort in surveying calculations or perhaps suggesting that it is sufficient just to ask landowners to point out their boundaries instead of wasting precious time studying old writings.
