Welcome!

In addition to the above comments one member, Holy Cow (aka "The Divine Bovine") is a television star in those atrocious commercials for Chick-fil-A. 😉

Where else can you go to find discussions like:

Surveyor A : "So in your neck of the woods do you guys hold ROW monuments or ROW plan math?

Surveyor B: "The general practice in our area is to recreate the baseline from the ROW plans called for in the original conveyance. The courts in our area tend to place more weight the intent of the original deed due to the regionally specific way land tenure evolved around here."

Surveyor C: "Why that is interesting; we're the exact opposite here. The courts stress the established monuments more here because of the historical way land tenure evolved in our region."

Surveyor B: "Well I can see how that is perfectly reasonable in your situation, I wish we were so lucky as to have a decent amount of ROW monuments set here, but that's not the case so we have to make do with what we've got and the direction the courts have given us."

Surveyor C: If there is one thing I've learned at this wonderful site it's that all surveying, like all politics, are local"

Surveyor B: "LOL...that's the truth. We'll you have a good day sir"

Surveyor C: "Right back at ya, buddy"

Surveyor A: Boy that was informative and civil; I love rplstoday.com so much I'm going to donate right now"

I do not believe that I would be wrong in saying that "many a drink has led to a post".

Sorry to hijack, but I'm having a problem with one thing about this place. My new post button has disappeared and it's nowhere to be found. I can reply, just not create a new post. I've logged out and back in several times but still no button. It's on both this desktop and my Ipad. Any tips?

Yeah I had real trouble with this. Go to Community in the orange ribbon at the top then select one of the posting categories, then you'll get the option to post a new one.

Thanks. I usually just go to recent posts. Would be handy if that button would stay on wherever you are.

I don't start threads often, and generally forget how between them. That's probably more a statement on how fast stuff leaks out of my brain than a site critique...

By having the New Post option only on particular category pages, we get a lot fewer miscategorized posts.

My only advice... be careful when he says "you have everything to gain, do it "

You guys are far too kind, but it is indeed appreciated.

Bill93 basically hit the nail on the head in regards to the Post New Thread button. You browse where you want to post and then create your post. It also has cut down on the number of multiple posts -- some people like to post the exact same topic in multiple categories, which is silly, really, because then they all show up in the list of threads.

Not a problem, other than I forget what to do between my few and far between new posts. Maybe I'll remember it now. Maybe you could put a note in the header about it.
