150 years ago today, South Carolina told the federal government to stick it.

This ought to be a holiday.

my favorite quote... "no one is saying the South invented slavery, but you held onto it like a M-f'er"

Ha ha ha, you must be joking.. oh, and not that I care, but how is this NOT political?

Historical facts are political? Well, if it needs to be changed, Wendell can change it.

Didn't work out too well, did it?

I'd rather commemorate the dead, who gave their lives.....on both sides.

How ironic that you are advocating for a federal holiday to commemorate secession!

I guess if the south would have actually WON, you would be having the day off. For most people, the Civil War is actually history. For you, though, it seems to be your day to day reality. You really should watch the clip I posted, you might learn what the focus of the secession documents really was.

So is that last quote some sort of veiled threat that the South will Rise again? Yee-haw!

It didn't matter what the states put in their secession documents. The onus to prove they couldn't secede was on the Union. It didn't matter if the South wanted to secede to set up a Buddist theocracy. That was their right.

Not really. It's actually called a no fault divorce.
