Trying to 'read' the news on the internet isn't like reading a newspaper. Can't hold a candle to it, nosiree. Although I still prefer the rag paper, it's definitely a thing of the past. But have you ever tried to swat an irritating fly with your tablet?

I get a little tired of clicking on an article and having to endure 15 or 30 seconds of some crummy ad before the video actually pops up. I've actually quit reading the articles or viewing the videos. Why not? I will remain just as uninformed as the next guy and I can still be ignorantly opinionated. That's our right in America.

Lately I've found myself more amused at the headlines than actually reading them. I just read the list of articles and then let my imagination get after it. No ads, either...;-)

Here's a few juicy headlines...let your imagination go:

Suspect caught in Elton John sunglasses theft

Video: Woman beaten over parking space

100+ shots fired at residence, cow injured

Cleanup begins after sewage spill

PD: Man stabs, kills taunting neighbor

High-ranking Navy officer drowns at biathlon

3 people arrested in moose stabbing

see what I mean?

To the Oklahoma reader, I'm sure this all has the quality of tales from far flung places. However, since absolutly none of these stories could have taken place in the SATRRABK (State Above The Red River and Below Kansas) this is only natural.

I mean "Woman Beaten Over Parking Space"? Doesn't that assume that someone will have actually painted some of them there lans on that thar grayund that would show whar the parking space was in the first place? The rest? Similarly impossible in most of Oklahoma.

Whn I read the news I gotta have pictures!

An Oklahoma angler has landed the largest fish ever caught in the state: a 254-pound alligator gar that measured 8 feet and boasted a 44-inch girth.

The item that piqued interest was the 100 + shots cow shooting.
Were they aiming at the cow?
