This is insane. I do not live in Alaska or Siberia. There is no such thing as now falling in May. Until now.
Yesterday, the weathermen were predicting snow of up to four inches in our immediate area. I knew they must all be together in some bar in Tijuana having fun at the expense of those of us stuck at home. At about 6:00 last evening there was tiny sleet coming down like rain. By 6:30 it was snow driven by 30 mph winds. At bedtime it looked like about a half-inch was coating everything in sight. Luckily the temperature raised just enough over night that the only place the snow could be found this morning is on vehicles, roofs, power poles and a few rare other places.
That four-letter word HEAT
Meanwhile in Oregon, we've also been having unseasonal weather -- it's been low to upper 70's all week and may hit 90 tomorrow. Summer around here doesn't usually officially kick in until Independence Day.
It's been unseasonably cool here in Georgia for the last week or so also. It hasn't gotten above 70 this week and they're calling for overnight lows in the 40s tonight. NASCAR is supposed to race in Talladega (About 90 miles west) this weekend and they're calling for thunderstorms and drenching rain. I'm glad my little camper won't be sitting in that sea of campers this weekend.
It sure is nice to not have either heat nor air conditioning running for a while though.
