Summits On The Air (SOTA) - Ham Radio

I helped a friend of mine carry ham radio gear up to the top of a high point in town and make 4 contacts to officially activate a SOTA summit. There are something like 200 summits in NH that meet the qualifications for a SOTA summit (something like 200 meters of prominence from the next higher peak). Although this is a big thing in Europe, most of the local summits around here have not been activated.

Here's a few pics. from the 3/4 mile hike up Point 1676 in Lyman NH.
