Are you OK? 😉 Last night our last two remaining cats (down from a maximum of 8) were on the bed. About 2:30 they decided it was grooming time and started scratching, licking, chewing themselves. I was flinging them off the bed and they couldn't figure out what the problem was, they'd just climb up on the headboard and keep on with their program. Plus, my wife's Volvo wouldn't start a couple of weeks ago. Had to have it towed in to the shop. Problem: Rats chewed the wires. What good are these mooching fuzzballs?
Nipping at the gin and posting again are we?

I only had one of those little 4oz glasses of Russian Imperial Stout, I lost count of how many times I refilled it but I never drained it.
There is a place in downtown Sacramento where you brew your own. I bottled it today, they give you a sampler glass hee hee hee. One bottle always goes off to the side for tasting purposes. The bottles are small, 22oz 😉

I have no animosity towards rats, per se. How can the insulation on a car's electrical wires be a comfort food to them? It just seems like a case where they don't give their own a..es whose lives they screw up while they gnaw on something like it's a sunflower seed. Could the coating on a spark plug wire really taste that good, even to a rat? I say no, it couldn't, they're just being the biggest pain in the a.. they can possibly be just because they can. They're probably sitting in my yard right now smirking at me for getting brand new wires for them to munch. Well maybe I have a little animosity after all.
On Facebook you are supposed to change your avatar to a cartoon character for some cause or other (forgot which one) so I changed it here too.

Rats will eat almost anything. I had some cat food in a plastic barrel with lid out in the garage (several years ago) figuring it would be safe. Ha, those rats ate a hole right through that and then ate the cat food.

I heard that cats will hunt and kill pests more when you feed and pamper the cats more. It's like they're rewarding you for a job well done. Our cats are about 17 years old now and they just don't feel like it anymore. The minute you sit down, you are an automatic heating pad in their minds.

They chew on the wires and stuff and use it for insulation in their nests. They really don't eat it like people think. Plus it satisfies their gnawing instinct. Rats teeth are constantly growing and if they don't gnaw on something that helps keep their grind their teeth down, their teeth will grow into their brain. I give mine peanuts in shell to crack open. Works great!!

Wild rats, though, I even admit....are a PAIN IN THE !!!! Destroyers of everything, the lil':-O suckers!!!

My cats couldn't catch a dust bunny ha ha.
I have one lap cat; she loves a warm lap. The most the big male will do is sit down next to us.
Lately their Mom has left a fuzzy wool blanket over her chair so they have been sleeping out in the living room. The male sleeps in the seat and the female sleeps on top of the back cushion because it kind of crushes down and makes a nice bed.

I guess that doesn't really resonate with me because I don't see how changing my Avatar fights child abuse so I don't remember it. I'm not for child abuse or anything like that; I never formally spanked my children (I don't think it is effective) but I admit I did lose my temper a few times (mostly verbally) but I'm only human. I had enough sense to bring myself under control before anything bad happened.
This is similar to the baby boomer protest model (I am a late baby boomer). The protest model works when you are trying to change a government policy or action (such as the Vietnam War) but when you want to combat an illegal activity such as child abuse or rape then protesting or making some other statement or activism such as changing your avatar doesn't seem to be very effective.
My daughter came to town to go to a left wing activism type-event so I went with her. My impression is they were mostly preaching to the choir and the main speaker was advocating things that are not really politically feasible but they want it "now," why should they have to wait? At the reception afterward her friend asked me if I go to these sorts of thing which I said no. Then he said well now you've been introduced to the world of left wing activism and he said he is kind of jaded about it being an artist (seems to be a professional requirement I think is what he meant).
Well Dave. I'll agree that changing the Avatar does nothing but it's a whimsical thing to do and I've enjoyed seeing what people have changed to since it seems many pick them out based on what they perceive themselves to be if they were the cartoon figure.
My choice of Pepe 'le Pew in no way reflects on me though in case you are wondering.
