Slow moving gulf storm / Five Day Track

Hurricane Katia / Five Day Track
will become a Cat3 by Weds
It looks like we will finally get some rain from one storm or the other.
I hear that. It's playing with fire to wish a hurricane blows through, but hopefully it will be a tropical depression and will slowly move north.
Storm update - as of Sat AM
Outer bands are just moving in, started raining last night after midnight and hasn't let up.
I did get home in time to put out more fertilizer, figured the manure would get washed into the root systems and maybe kill the smell a bit. My neighbors love me....
If nothing else comes of the past year, at least my yard looks good, didn't cut it this week as while it is long, at least it is even. The fact my wife had lemon pepper chicken, fried okra, new potatoes and fried squash waiting on the table might have been a factor as well....
The 5PM advisory shows Katia by Friday in a position to curve out to sea. Sea surface temperture satellite pictures show 65 degree water from a few miles south of Long Island to the edge (62 to 80 miles out). Next Friday's offshore forecast is NE winds 15 to 25 knots and seas 11 to 14 feet. The tuna fish will be safe next weekend.
