So, I am watching this show last night when these two buy a storage unit. It is a unit of old police files and what not. They paid something like $2000 for the entire unit. It just happens, they pull out an almost brand new Leica scanner valued at over $20k. Why can't I have that kind of luck? It was just interesting seeing these two that act like they know everything about everything and then they get this scanner and had no clue. They had to call in a Leica salesman just to tell them what it was and how much it was worth.

If it makes you feel better, one of the guys in Storage Wars "Dave" said its fake and they plant high cost or rare items in the lockers to make the show interesting. If you notice, every locker on that show seems to have one item in it they need to get appraised.

I kind of figured as much when the scanner fired right up without charging the battery. Also, they never do seem to "lose" on the lockers they buy. But, it is entertaining to watch when 2 AM insomnia strikes and since the wife has banned the baseball channel.

Well you can watch the picker show where they pay hundreds of dollars for junk like an old half rusted metal sign.

Or the obviously fake bootlegger show.

Yeap, all those cable shows like that are "fixed". The repo shows included. Just like wrestling.
The hunting shows are mostly staged. Have you ever noticed the deer hunted that shot the trophy buck as he searches for the fallen deer in the brush with the camera guy already there aiming his camera back toward the hunter. Fake and staged.
I would like to see a real reality show.

My brother owned a trophy hunting ranch some years ago and allowed a hunt show to come and film a hunt or two on his place. After a day or so, he said he was never so ready to get rid of that guy and his trophy wife as anyone before. Got tired of picking up after them, catering to them and listening to their whining. Was ready to kick them off the place by the time they finished.
