Listening to the Farm Report this morning and the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture released its numbers for the feral swine eradication program.
2016 - 11,700 compared to 7,500 in 2015 and 2,500 in 2014. While the numbers may appear to show the humans are gaining on them, I have no idea what their population growth is compared to these numbers.
There's still plenty of them out there and it's open season. Take a good mess of ammo with you.
That sounds like an "ammo up" to me 😀
Here in California the Fish and Game wants $22.42 per pig stamp. But they are kind enough to allow you to buy as many as you want.

That seems crazy to me considering the damage those thing inflict on the environment, but there is a lot of distance between Sunny Cal and Okie-Homie.
I bet there's people in the woods right now popping pigs...and they had to borrow gas money and a rifle from their brother-in-law. 😉
What has happened is that the population has been managed/reduced to the point that the only good pig hunting is on private ranches and they charge big $ for a trespass fee. I know of an outfitter that charges $1200 for a weekend pig hunt. He is booked ahead two years.
Crazy.
I have a client that is a hunting guide and holds hog hunts with dogs.
He busy all year long.
