Carl, I'm actually a big VT fan as well. Most Boise fans are. Ever since that BSU-VT game two years ago, most of the Bronco fan base has been pulling for VaTech whenever possible. Since the bowl pairings are a done deal now, am hoping that the Hokies take their best shot and win the Sugar Bowl.

Do away with the athletic scholarship.
If you want to go to college, fine. You'll either pay to go, or you'll have to be intelligent enough to receive an academic scholarship.
Maybe then the NFL and the NBA will set up a real minor league system like baseball.
Some NCAA Silliness
yeah but they get a FREE education (tongue firmly in cheek)
nothing is going to change. the student athlete has no money to lobby change. we all know how that story goes from our numerous P/R discussions. there are too many people with money making money on the current system. you ain't gonna break it. student athletes may get some better perks in the next 10 years but nothing will substantially change until the NFL flexes their muscle. and they just 'fixed' their system for the next 5-8 years so they don't care to rock any boats.
Some NCAA Silliness
The education is worth about $120,000 and football players with 2.5 GPAs get into schools that reject kids with 3.9s ... And, if the kids actually declare a real major and take their education seriously, they can go on to earn a good living outside of football.
