That reminds me of the time I was working this big farm survey that backed up to a small creek that was full of snakes and gators. That was back before GPS and even before total stations. We walked up hill both ways while chaining distances through the thickest wall of briars you've ever seen. I was working with this one guy ..... and then it started raining and the truck got stuck .... and man did it get hot everyday back then .... and I don't do that anymore..... but I think you ought to go with your gut on this one.
