Yes, he is. Which was the best of the James Bond films in which he appeared? I'm torn between "From Russia with Love" and "Goldfinger".

I'd go with From Russia with Love on the Bond movies. And he really was the only Bond in my opinion.

He also did a film which is not very well known but is among some of his finer work. It was about the aging Robin Hood and the aging Sheriff of Nottingham. Robin and Mary or something close to that.

Outland (sci-fi) was also good as was his character in the Highlander series. That fit him perfectly.

Probably my favorite work of his is the Rock with Nicholas Cage. He fit the profile perfectly of an aging but still lethal SAS Commmander.

Bond, James Bond.

From Russia with Love - but only because of Danielle Bianchi. I've been in love with her for a long time.

I go with "From Russia With Love" because it was also the best Bond Book. Although, "You Only Live Twice" was a good one, too...movie that is

I vote for "Goldfinger". In addition to the film being great, the theme song "Goldfinger" was a hit.

I'm in the Goldfinger camp, but I remember reading that From Russia With Love was Connery's favorite.

As for my favorite non-Bond, thats easy: The Man Who Would Be King

His best work IMHO

Was the movie "Finding Forrester". I remember when I first saw it I wasn't expecting much and it started off a little slow, but by the end I had really had enjoyed it! I think he and Rob Brown both did a great job.

I think "Goldfinger" was the best, but "Dr. No" was good enough to create a whole new style of movie and enough to make Connery a star.

Sean Connery

For my favorite Connery movies, I'd have to go with "Goldfinger" also.

Second would be the aforementioned "Robin and Marion".

Third would be a little noticed gem called "Family Business", with Connery, Dustin Hoffman, and Matthew Broderick as three generations of criminals. Great NY location shots too.

Sean Connery

My all time favorite Connery scene is when he kicks the guys ass at the bar with his thumb in Presidio.

I was waiting for the Untouchables to be mentioned.
He was very good as the old Irish cop.
and my avatar composed the sountrack
😉

I liked his Bond films the best. I would say Goldfinger. It was a coming of age film for me in certain ways. Good date film.
Some of those Bond films in the 70's were really campy. I remember LOL in the theater at an action scene and the other moviegoers thinking that I was pretty strange.

I can always enjoy watching Diamonds are Forever with Jill St John (Tiffany Chase), Lana Wood (Plenty O'Toole) and Jimmy Dean.

The Rock was probably my favorite Connery film.

The Wind and the Lion....

another great non Bond movie with Sean Connery....

Has that great line from Brian Keith as Teddy Roosevelt..."gentlemen...if you don't mind, I would like to be alone with my bear" Referring to a stuffed bear he had.

The Wind and the Lion....

True only Sean Connery could be persuasive as a Bedouin Nomad who just happens to have a Scottish Accent, ach aye!
