A new season starts this Sunday on masterpeice theater.
3 new Sherlocks.
I look forward to recording them.
I think the producers/writers have done a great job of making Holmes and Watson fit the 21st century. I think Conan Doyle would approve. They do honor rhe original work and inspire you to reread them.
It is interesting that Dr. Watson in this 21st century tale returns injured from the war in Afgahnistan as in the original 1880's version and that Watson is now a blogger about Holmes instead of keeping a journal.
Al in all great acting and story lines etc with a lot of wry and sly humor.
The original 3 episodes of this series is on netflix and may be necessary to enjoy the 3 new episodes as far as story lines and character development.
Thanks for the heads up; I'll check it out.
I am a big Jeremy Brett (BBC) fan from the 80's I believe. I have a few CD's with a few episodes on each. Watch them from time to time.
I have always loved Sherlock no matter the actor. Just shows how strong Conan Doyle's writing was/is.
Thanks for the heads up Robert!
Stephen Moffat, who is the show runner, also is running Doctor Who. He writes for both and tells some fantastic stories. He also wrote an update to the Jekyll and Hyde called Jekyll a few years back that was really good. He wrote what is one of the best pieces of science fiction ever on the Doctor Who episode "Blink." Even if you have never heard of Doctor Who, watch this episode.
They were defiitely awesome! A great follow up to the first 3! Completely different to the Robert Downey Jnr outings, but Cumberpatch is a fantastic sherlock.
