Yes, I know. This was posted earlier.

In my college years, I went to see Professor Annis to ask to enroll in his class. You can probably guess how I pronounced his name and how he corrected me.

Correct Name Pronunciation Please
About some reviews on the correct pronunciation of names appearing here frequently. Many of the newer participants won't remember similar threads from yesteryear on a board that is gone but not forgotten.
For example: Codespoti......is it Co-duh-spotty?...is it Code-spa-tee?...is it Kuh-des-putty?
Another: Karoly......is it Carol-ee or Kuh-roll-ee?
Another: Binge.....is it Bin-guh or rhyme with cringe? Thanks to Robert Hill for supplying the answer: Bin-Gee with a hard "G".

The e at the end of my last name is silent. It looks easy to say, buy almost everyone says it like Livingstone instead of the way it should be said Livingston.

My name is pronounced "Dee-Jay", although my dad called me "Deej". Hope that clears things up.

Opperman (ah-per-mun) - Please don't ask me to put emphasis marks or wild punctuation symbols in it, English class was not my strong suit.

I have a buddy named L D
No periods as the L and the D aren't short for anything else, just L D
The Navy had problems with that when he enlisted.

I have another buddy whose middle name is J, just J, not short for anything.

I have a buddy whose given name is W.E. They don't stand for anything either. I guess his dad had a sense of humor.

the N in the middle is silent and invisible....lol I like that.

Is it a "soft" O as in the first name "Rob"? or is it a hard O as in Orbison.
