I was offered a chance to help deliver this boat from Key West to Corpus Christi:

Did I accept? Hell yes! All I have to do is get to Key West, $200 airfare off priceline! We leave Key West on Memorial Day! We are figuring a 7 to 8 day passage.
Yes, I am a bit excited!

Sounds like a much better deal than having to buy your own "hole in the water, into which you throw money".

I heard the happiest days of a boat owner's life is the day they buy the boat and the day they sell it

Yeah Perry, that's why you live in NH with the shortest shoreline in the world!

That stupid saying was invented by an angry wife I'm sure. I've never been happier than when I have purchased a boat!

Pat, do you need a helmsman? I can drive anything anywhere! My last boat was a 28' Sabre ...

I do have my own boat, a 22' MacGregor, well I guess I should say my brother has it. Since I started racing sailboats, the Macgregor is not exactly set up for racing, it had been sitting in my yard for a few years, now my brother takes it all over southeast Texas. Myself I am content to racing other peoples boats, mostly J24s. In fact I will be headed to Denton, Texas for a 2 day regatta this weekend. Memorial weekend I will be doing another 2 day regatta here on Lake Travis, this time sailing a Corsair F31, a 31' Trimaran.(I have been on that boat doing 19 knots!) Shortly after getting off that boat on Sunday, I head to San Antonio to catch a flight @ 5:30 Monday morning for Key West. We should get to Corpus Christi a week later, come home and work the rest of the week, then head back to Corpus for another 2 day regatta on the J24.
Sometimes it is hard to fit working into my sailing schedule!

sounds fantastic! good time on the water. are you flying into KW or driving from Miami? Fort Myers has a high speed catamaran that runs down there every day. might be cheaper to fly to RSW then hop the boat down. just a thought if $$ is an issue.

Flying into Key West, I was amazed that I could get a flight from San Antonio to Key West for $200, but thanks for the info!
