That was 3 days ago. Did no one ever post anything about it?
I'd be really surprised if not.

Her death was referenced via a link in the thread about "dropping the possum" on New Year's Eve. Here's a link to the IMDB data, including a very nice bio for Doris Smith/Donna Douglas/ Elly May. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0235031/

I missed the posting. I didn't read the thread cited by "Holy Cow" 🙂

Mr. Shepp

It appears to me that somehow, someway the thread I referred to has disappeared from sight or else I have gone semi-blind. I believe the thread focused on other "dropping" opportunities on New Year's Eve other than the famous ball drop in NYC. Someone referred to the so-called possum drop held in Tallapoosa, Georgia each year. That is not a live possum. It is one that found dead by a taxidermist and mounted. And it does not drop as in the common meaning of drop but rather akin to the way the big ball drops in NYC. Someone mentioned something about Donna Douglas and Max Baer, Jr. having been asked to participate once upon a time. Then, someone else reported that Donna Douglas had died on January 1. In one post, a link was provided to a listing of other bizarre "drop" events held around the country.

I met her and got her autograph in 1963 when I was in first grade. She was purty. Real purty.
