Just finished ceramic coating the family ride. Took two days including prep and 2 coats. I now have muscle pain in places I didn??t think possible. Anyway it was worth the agony because it has the closest I??ve ever come to a mirror shine. Gear heads will understand the feeling. The wheels are next, then the interior with some stuff called 303 marine uv protectant. Does anyone else baby their rides? ?????ÿ

Not really. I would service it regularly. Wax once in a while. Buy good brand tires. But have never spent to make it look like it came out of the showroom.?ÿ
I would rather spend?ÿ on the engine, suspension and things that keep it going rather than on making it look good.?ÿ
My take is that when you drive it, only other people see the outside. You however feel everything that's under the hood and body. 😉

I wouldn't say pamper, up until a decade or so ago, my rides fell into "you can't polish a turd" category. However since then I have used a bottle or two of 303, and in a long ago thread I commented that one needs to be cautious because it renders the resulting surface incredibly slippery - "it's so slick it could make a statue sh*t" - which may or may not be a concern, depending on what you are doing on said surface. The bottle also says if you use it in California, it's carcinogenic. It does however appear to "restore" faded surfaces, and UV protect them. Patch test first.
I saw a wreck yesterday that would make most car enthusiasts cry.?ÿ I was driving along a divided 4 lane highway when I saw two cars spin across the two lanes ahead.?ÿ A van had pulled out of a side street to turn left across a median opening when a NEW McLaren (still had dealer tag) T-boned it.?ÿ The McLaren was chartreuse green so I know the van had to have been able to see it.?ÿ The McLaren had to have been totaled.?ÿ No matter how much you take care of your car some idiot can still destroy it for you.?ÿ NOT to say you shouldn't take care of it, but it is still only an item which can be replaced.

I wash my car and truck by hand on a regular basis. You find little things to take care of you might not notice otherwise. It's part of the maintenance.
My last truck traded above private party book. It was taken care of and it showed. Washing it wasn't all vanity...
I haven??t jumped onto the ceramic bandwagon yet but might try some out from Griort??s Garage. ?ÿI??ve been into cars for a while. ?ÿIn the past I owned a 70 Challenger and a 70 Road Runner. ?ÿI currently own a 2010 Challenger with 20,000 miles on it. ?ÿSurprisingly I don??t have very many pics of it. ?ÿThis was taken about 10 years ago when I was having it tuned on a dyno.?ÿ
