When my son was a senior in high school his wrestling team was ranked #1 in the state and was headed for the state championship tournament. The night before they left the whole team bleached their hair white. One of the fellows had a strict (and strongly religious) family. When his mother walked in the wrestling room that night the whole room got quiet. She just looked at him and slowly shook her head. His bleached hair probably wouldn't have looked so out of place except he was the only African American on the team. The next day at the tournament Anton (his name) showed up with his head shaved. It must have worked for him though, he went on to win two state championships and got a wrestling scholarship to Virginia Tech.
