This could so easliy turn political.... but, it fits many Americans today.

I grew up operating one of those. No fenders or cab but somehow we all survived. In todays nanny state my dad would be considered abusive. But like I said we all survived, probably better off for it!

That one must have a starter. The ones I run you had to turn the flywheel with the pitcocks open.

We also had one that you started by spinning the flywheel and then closing the two compression release valves once it fired. We used it with a cordwood saw. One of the guys flipped it over dragging a hardwood logs out with the hitch hit a stump. He couldn't get his hand on the hand-clutch fast enough.

Man, I'm sorry to hear about your guy who flipped the tractor. Did he survive?

yeah, he survived, but got banged up pretty good. The tractor was okay too.
