I love those critters.?ÿ Picked three off a tree today for a little special treat from Mother Nature.?ÿ They grow sweeter after a frost or two has hit them.

I haven't been lucky enough to find any persimmons yet this season.?ÿ Maybe there's still time before the raccoons get them all.
My grandmother used to make jam with them.?ÿ She'd also toss some tart apples in the kettle to round out the taste.?ÿ Haven't had any of that jam for over 60 years and I can still remember the taste.?ÿ ?ÿ

A friend of my father had a couple of "oriental" persimmons that had fruit the size of a baseball.?ÿ The 'possums in the neighborhood thought they had died and gone to heaven.
