If you watched this game then you have to come away impressed with just how fast they run that offense. No time for the defense to even catch a breath between plays.
And this was the UCLA that beat Texas a few weeks ago.
Color me very impressed with Oregon. Not only their offense but their defense was pretty good last night also. Oregon certainly made a statement last night to all the voters.
Shucks......I had UCLA and 46............:-P
That would be the same UCLA who lost to Kansas State in the first week of play.
Deral
Deral,
Just thought of you a couple of days ago. Jean and I were at the Tillamook Cheese Factory. Galic white, Garlic and Jalapeno Sharp, Smoked...Good Stuff.
Oh yeah, football, Still need to see the Ducks go through USC, then the sky is the limit.
Joe

From what I saw last night then USC is going to have to step up their pace to keep up with Oregon. They were just a machine last night.

The Ducks are, traditionally, a different team at home and on the road. They have a heck of a home field advantage.
From the Wikipedia entry for Autzen Stadium:
Autzen is known for its crowd noise. On October 27, 2007, during a 24–17 defeat of the USC Trojans, a record crowd of 59,277 fans was recorded at 127.2 decibels. A similarly-loud 31–27 upset of third-ranked Michigan in 2003 prompted a Michigan Daily columnist to write:
"Autzen's 59,000 strong make the Big House collectively sound like a pathetic whimper. It’s louder than any place I’ve ever been, and that includes The Swamp at Florida, The Shoe in Columbus, and Death Valley at Louisiana State. Autzen Stadium is where great teams go to die."
Michigan coach Lloyd Carr later said that Autzen Stadium was the loudest stadium he'd ever been in.
In 2006, a Sporting News columnist named Autzen the most intimidating college football stadium in the nation.
Lee Corso of ESPN College Gameday frequently says that; "Per person Autzen Stadium is the loudest stadium that I have ever been in my entire life!"
Jahvid Best, a starting running back for the California Golden Bears said of his game in 2007 at Autzen Stadium, "The biggest thing I remember about that game is the crowd. The crowd noise is crazy up there. Honestly, any other away game I don't really even hear the crowd. Oregon was the only place where it really got on my nerves."
As a head coach for the California Golden Bears, Jeff Tedford said, "Their fans are so educated that they're really prepared as far as when to make noise and when not to make noise. You can quiet some crowds down if you score early and things like that. Not in Autzen. They're going to keep roaring the whole game, that's just the way they are."

I am an OSU Beaver fan for life, and My wife is a UO Duck fan. No problems with that since we both root for each others team when they play except for the Civil War game between the two at the end of the year.

That is the game I think the ducks need to be worried about. It could be like the shellacking the Beavers took in 2008 or 2005, but OSU has equally destroyed the Ducks in this season ending game. Both teams forget the rankings that the nation elevates them too prior to the game and it usually shapes up to be one of the best football games of the year. The Ducks have wrecked the Beavers Rose bowl dreams in years past and vice versa, so with that said I wish both teams the best. Hopefully all teams will play their best games of football and in the end the computers and coaches and AP will get it all right. I hate seeing the political side of college sports but when money is involved they go hand in hand.
Go Beavs.
shoulda bet the over, I guess.

Aww man now you have me wanting to go make a trip out there, Joe!! 🙂
He's right, Deral. The cheese there is just absolutely divine. We buy nothing but Tillamook cheese around these parts. Heck that's all we bought in Tucson too but it's a bit more expensive in Tucson than it is in Oregon.
Wendell's favorite is the Colby Jack 2 pound loaf. I like their medium cheddar. At the factory you can get the specialized cheeses...hence the garlic one! YUM!! Plus they also have great yogurt, ice cream (their bubblegum rocks!), milk, sour cream, etc... It's a blast to go on the tour and watch them actually make the stuff. *salivates*
As for the Ducks, you guys should be here in this STATE when it's all going on. Everyone has gone mad! And of course the radio stations help fuel the fire. Yesterday there was an announcement of free sodas and other goodies if people came down to Eugene to the stadium. And this was a Portland station which is almost 3 hours away!! And during Civil War time, it's even more crazier. Especially in my little town where 90% of everyone are Beaver fans. All this over a football game. 😉

Same here. I like them both but I'd like to see the Beavs win it for once. It would make my little town a VERY happy town! 🙂
Autzen crowd noize
admittedly, it can get real loud in Autzen, it's famous for that and rightfully so, but the BSU Broncos figured out a way to quiet the Quacker crowd: Knock their 1st and 2nd string QB's outta the game and go up by 3 TD's in the first half. That quiets the Autzen crowd down considerably. Once the Duckies go down by 3 TD's, the Quacker fans go straight for their lattes, their brie and chablis, and forget about the game.
That said, I still like the Ducks except when they play the Broncos.
Cheese & Ducks
Joe and Angel.
I order all my cheese directly from the Tillamook company. They will only ship on Mondays to insure that the product reaches you in a hurry and they are extremely nice on the phone and have never botched an order.
I'm partial to the pepper jack.

You're a smart man, Deral!! :good: Your supporting our state plus you're getting an excellent product. Yum!!! If you ever come to Oregon we'll have to take you there. They got great food there too! I like their halibut fish and chips. :pizza:
Do they charge you sales tax? I always wondered about that if people buy stuff from Oregon but are out of state.
