That whole debacle is a joke. Especially the NCAA allowing those players to play in the Sugar Bowl game last year, after they suspended them.
OSU is doing this "self imposed sanction" crap in an effort look like they care. It's all about money and they are trying to minimize loses. I expect the NCAA to impose much harsher sanctions in due time. Look what happened to USC and a few other big name cheater colleges.
They all walk that fine line, some just get caught.
Maybe Nebraska will win the Big 10. Wouldn't that be a hoot.
I agree. Saying you lost a game you won is hardly a punishment. The NCAA is going to impose scholarship reductions and maybe a post season ban, my guess. We should know something by 2018.
The Bowl Ban Has To Be Soon
Why let the offending players play in another bowl? NCAA loves to put the pain on totally innocent players in later years.
Right now the NCAA is concentrating on defending a lifetime ban in court on a North Carolina player for 1 honor code violation and $11 in excess benefits.
Meanwhile Nebraska had to report a violation that they gave recommended course books to football players. The colleges are only allowed to give required books to student athletes, after all the NCAA does not want the student athlete slaves to get too smart.
I believe the NCAA student sport ripoff will soon come to an end.

We are going to be lucky if football even happens this fall in any enjoyable fashion.
IMHO, it is gambling with a young man's or woman's future when anyone approaches a college or high school player for recruitment until they have ended their last season for their school.
I would like to see the initial step be made by the player to contact the school of their choice and not the other way around.
😉
The Bowl Ban Has To Be Soon
That's how the NCAA works. IIRC, both FSU and USC started their probation last year for infractions commited in 2006, and in both cases, all the players and coaches involved are gone. Well, except for Kiffen, he was Reggie Bush's position coach I beleive.
