Actually, mostly Poplar (quaking aspen) and white ash. (The poplar is for the Maple Syrup Evaporator)

Paul, The only approval I needed was from SWMBO.

Poplar burns fine and clean - but fast. Not terribly hot so I suppose it would be good for your evaporator use. I suppose black locus might be a wee bit too hot for that purpose.
You make good syrup Perry. Tap on!!

Man, you are sure hard on trees. What do you have against them? You're always either cutting them down, sawing them into littler pieces, burning them, driving nails into them, tapping into them...

I'm more curious as to how you cut them and got them to split up so nicely!

I always have to use an axe...looks like that tree fell and split itself in place in the first picture...

Haha Funny Perry, but I seriously doubt that you asked SWMBO anything about cutting those trees 🙂
