Most the surveys I do would be in that area. Several years ago I gave a short talk to the McDonough County Historical Society about the Military Tract and the surveying of it. I don't think there was a person in the room under 75 years old except me.

How about the land of Forgottonia?
That's in WNW central IL. It's basically 16 counties of a giant island.

A similar attempt at secession has occurred more than once in different forms involving southwestern Kansas, southeastern Colorado, the Oklahoma Panhandle and parts of New Mexico and Texas.
