Speaking of seeing weird things at airports----------was in a bookstore in Lambert Airport in St. Louis about 1978 and saw a picture book that was weird. ?ÿEvery photo on every page was the view under the door of a public restroom stall----many different restrooms. ?ÿJust that first 12 to 15 inches above floor level. ?ÿDress shoes, high heels, flip-flops, work boots, dangling kids shoes. ?ÿPartial pants legs, skirts, pant suits, whatever. ?ÿSome bare legs and some with fancy stockings. ?ÿWell over 100 photos.

Who would think to take such photos and who did they think would want to buy a book full of such photos?

I'm in love again...a pre-1960 straight tail fastback C182 <3

I would totally love to fly that airplane despite the paint job. It has stall fences too.

I'm pretty sure that's a Cessna 182A Skylane with some STOL modifications. The stall fences are clearly visible. They interrupt the aerodynamic stall progression outwards from the wing roots improving slow speed performance.

Angel clearly has a talent for spotting an excellent flying machine.

it could be a B model too.

I love planes!!! One of my favorite things to do, ever since I was a kid, is to go sit by a runway with a meal and watch them fly in and out. LAX is FANTASTIC for this! Also found a good spot by Sea-Tac. My dream is to go to St. Maarteen!! ?????ÿ

There"was" a good spot by Sea-Tac. They took it out when they put in the third runway...

There still is!! It's right by where there's a car repair shop? There's a little parking area right where they fly by you to land. The cops come by regularly to check on people and make sure that all they're doing is plane watching. ?????ÿ

It took us about an hour to find it, but when we did, BLISS!!! I wish I could remember the street names exactly. ?????ÿ

There's a parking lot near the south end of the runway, on the west side. That may be what you are talking about...

This is the one I was thinking about:

LANDING

There's a public parking area, a little up and to the left; you could sit there and be about as close as you could get to where most planes would touch down. Pretty cool!

The picture was from GE 1990, east is to the top, looking at the runway.

Been there and seen it. They may have changed how close you can get on the beach as someone got killed there a year or two ago and there was a lot of negative publicity. Probably googable

You're right, LOL, the planes fly right over top of you...

YOURERIGHTLOL

The company I worked for did the environmental impact study for the third runway; so I got to locate every wet land flag hung out there. Too much fun!

I could tell you some stories...

That's got to sting, flying beach sand and who knows what.

It would block the view and would be totally necessary to build a blast wall to send the jet exhaust up over the beach.

Hi there Mrs. Noodles,

At Sint Maarten there is a beach side bar where you can watch all the activity without getting sandblasted or blown into the Ocean when an A380 or antiquated 747 departs. Watching them land is exciting you'll swear they are gonna crash in the ocean, but they usually don't. Otherwise there is really not much to do there unless you like amateur French paintings and crafts. The other half of the island is Dutch they don't do anything except smoke weed and drink Heineken.?ÿ ?????ÿ

Well, that's my kinda place then. And it comes with a warm beach! I can't drink hard alcohol anymore, though, so I'd have to get all of my drinks "Virginized". ?????ÿ
I don't know if there is another airport out there, though, that has better views than LAX. You can watch the planes from both sides, taking off and landing. I liked this one because of it's name and color.

066. Wow Airlines

In-N-Out was smart and put a location RIGHT where they fly over and land. People get their food and go sit on the grassy area or outdoor eating area and plane watch 24/7.?ÿ I attached a video of one. Hopefully it worked! ?????ÿ
