How about that Dale Jr. on the pole for tonights shootout.
Smoke Stewart starts next door on the front row.
My buddy was supposed to be there with his Papa (Grandpa) but he just got slammed with a kidney cancer diagnosis.
My bud is coming over this evening for the race. That means I'll probably have to throw down on my famous cheese dip. It has become my regular staple when racing season cranks back up.
Go Jr!!!!
I would like Jr to win, not just this race, but a lot more. Trouble is that he doesn't. I think he is going to have another quiet season much like he has in the past 4+ years. He may win a pole, but he will fallback to like 24th position by the end of the race. 4 years of Jimmy Johnson is almost as bad as 2 years of Obama.
Well Darrell I think part of the problem is Hendrick not throwing good assets his way instead of Jimmy or Jeffy. It wouldn't suprise me at all to see Jr. spin off a cup series team at some point. I'd like to see him and Tony team up other than drafting partners. I'm looking for a Jr. and Tony - 1, 2 finish. Or the other way. I'm good with that.
Going from 1st to last and vice versa is typical at Daytona and Talledega. I'm not worried about that.
ALL righty then!!
My bud is going to visit Papa and then we are full on for cheese dip this evening.
He said he would call later for the stuff to get. negative. Last time he did that he got all the wrong stuff or generics. I said just come get me and I'll get the stuff.
Here is my thing:
1 pound Velveeta (NO GENERICS)
1/4 pound monterey jack Kraft (NO GENERICS)
2 cans Rotelle chile tomatoes (sp?) (no switching brands)
2 family size bags of Tostitos chip.
Cube or slice up the cheese in a pot on the stove. LOW HEAT so as not to scorch it.
About the time the cheese starts to soften dump in the Rotelle stuff without draining. The water in the cans help flavor it up good.
My experience has been that the cheep cheeses have a lot of salt and when heated for dipping gives them a gritty (like sand) texture.
In any event we'll watch the 500 qualifying and the shootout.
Do doubt Papa Phill will be on our minds. I've had beers with the guy several times. He's good people.
Big E, you are not going to Monster Jam tonight at the Dome? Man, I thought any self respecting redneck would be there. We are taking the 2 year old boy. He has been running around the house all week screaming "monsta tucks!".
SHAKE-N-BAKE AND
PULL THE TRIGGER!!!!

I don't mean to rain on your party, Snoop, I just want you to be careful.
No way Snoop. I hate that neighborhood. I've done a few surveys down in that area and it was ... well... I wish I was armed other than my 2' blade.
If you swing by exit 278 on 75N stop by for a beer. I'm only about a mile off the exit.
BigE
I'll be watching just a few miles south of you. My wife has gone shopping for beer and "goodies" as we speak.
Since I've been gone a while maybe you can answer a question for me. Why is Kesalowski (sp?) in the Blue Deuce and Kurt Busch in the 22? While I'm not a big fan of Busch I thought he had done well in the 2 car.
Andy
BigE
Sorry Andy. I can't answer any of that except for opinion.
They are all pretty much punks IMHO.
I was in your neck of the woods a weekend or so ago. Had wings and beers at the Hooters across from the Cowboys bar in Kenesaw. You probably know where that's at.

Now you know we don't sit down among the common folk. Luxury box all the way. I doubt we will even be able to hear the trucks with windows closed and the TVs turned up.
> 4 years of Jimmy Johnson is almost as bad as 2 years of Obama.
I concur. It's hardly fun to watch anymore when the same guy wins for years on end. 😐
Come on Mark!! :good:

High, is the only way to roll;-)
Have a blast Snoop, good to hear you will be safe.
Cheers,

NASCAR, DAY-UM!, that was fun to watch!...
I hope next Sunday's 500 miler plays out that well.
Hope your cheese dip worked out that good, Eric! I haven't been that entertained by a race in a minute!
Andy, I'm sorry,....

but, Kurt Busch rocks. I'd like to sit down with the lad and have a Miller Lite beer and discuss the virtues of Penzoil. Seems like a class act fella to me.
I just finished reading In The Blink Of An Eye by Michael Waltrip and Ellis Henican. A very interesting read centered on 18 February 2001.
