LSU has the Center for Advanced Micro Devices (CAMD) which is a nanotechnology development facility. I teach a course in Advanced Surveying that includes Optical Tooling techniques and equipment in which I bring my students there to see a Leica LaserTracker interferometer in action for aligning the various electron beam devices. The LSU budget is so bad that I think they are going to shut it down by the end of this current semester. It's too bad, because it's the only facility of its kind in the Southeastern U.S., as far as I know.
