I don't see a lot of movies but SWMBO likes to get various movies from the nominations list for the Oscars...
Winter Bone is one of the darkest, but best movies that I've seen in a long time..
I liked it a lot more than True Grit (never did like Jeff Bridges much)....
What do y'all think of it, those that have seen it anyway...
One of the best of last year.
I was very impressed with the young star!
True Grit was good too, but then I like the Dude.
At the beginning, I thought that whoever wrote the script had been on crack at the time. I then realized that they were speaking the way they would have at the time.
No contractions and a more formal type of speaking.
Made me realize how far we've sunk since then!

Don't you mean "The Duke"?
I think that he meant the "Dude" for Jeff Bridges, not the "Duke" for the Duke....
Ah, yes. The Big Lebowski. My mind is slipping.
I think you meant "Winter's Bone"
in case anyone is looking.
I think you meant "Winter's Bone"
Thanks Andy, my mistake!
"Winter's Bone" -
Ok, I'll bite. Me loves a good flick. What is it about??? Just the general synopsis. 🙂
"Winter's Bone" -> ANGEL
It's about families in the Ozarks.... The young stars father is a crack cooker on the lam from a bondsman, and the movie is about her search for him through her relatives. Her mother is 'ill' and the young girl is responsible for taking care of her younger brother and sister...
"Winter's Bone" -> ANGEL
Thanks, Foggy!! I'll have to see if it is on Netflix or at Redbox. I'll report back after I watch it. 🙂
