Interesting brief on an occupational hazard many of us have or will deal with:
Take it from someone who has had a melanoma removed. If you are over 50, have worked outside all your life, and didn't use sun block PLEASE go see a dermatologist. They CAN save your life.

No Dermatologist for me, but I check my hide out regularly and I go to an MD at least 6 times a year. If something looks like it is going bad, going to get it taken care of pronto.
I did a routine checkup with a dermatologist and he spotted a melanoma spot on my chest and took it off. I did not know about it or suspect anything.
He checks me 4 times a year now and I am glad.

Hide out??? :-S You hiding in a cave or something... 😛
I lost a good friend to melanoma Tuesday. She wasn't a sun worshipper .and wore sunscreen regularly. Started out as a "mole".(which was removed). Then to her lymph nodes (again removed). On to her intestines (removed) ... which returned. Radiation on her brain and chemo all in a relatively short time. Before the cancer won, things were mean cruel and ugly. Please please be careful ... If not for yourself, be diligent and pro active for your loved ones ... please ...
You haven't seen my skin. Looks like a tanned hide, aka leather.
You probably would have understood without an explanation if I has worded it differently, i.e.:
I check out my hide regularly. B-)
