Some pics from a cow elk hunt Luke & I went on 30 miles north of McDermitt, NV and about 8 miles east of an ODOT outpost on Hwy 95 called
Basque Station. We were able to find a herd of over 100, but could not get any closer than 500 yds,
too far for a clean shot.

Beautiful country. I'm seriously challenged out past 400 yards. Takes right rifle and lot of practice to confidently reach out 500+ yards. Not a lot of cover for a stalk from what I can see.

82 here on Saturday. I think they said it was the earliest 80 degree day since 1911. Mid 50's today and tomorrow.

Read something here or somewhere else on the internet about that location around there having the darkest skies in all of the lower 48.
Stargazing with the naked eye is supposed to be phenomenal.
