I saw one of these in San Francisco as a kid, impressive and educational.
I believe there is also one similar to this at Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles. At least they look similar. :-$
I remember seeing one at the Smithsonian in DC back in '72.
Back then you could drive right past the White House. I remember enjoying the elaborate directions given by the traffic cops near the House, who directed with white gloves, and really got into the motions of directing.
I need this on my desk.
