It read: N 1/4 of NW 1/4 of SW 1/4 of Section xx...

(I felt it made more sense this way: North 1/2 of the North 1/2 if the NW 1/4 of of the SW 1/4 of Section xx.)

What say you?

I would have written as per yours but they both are the same tract. A nominal 330x1320.

I would leave it as written. No need to confuse the issue with what appears to be different to a person who doesn't know.

It should reflect the history.
If dividing a 40 acre NW1/4 SW1/4, either would do.
If dividing a 20 acre N1/2 NW1/4 SW1/4, it should be N1/2 N1/2 NW1/4 SW1/4.
