If you've never seen the planet Mercury, the next three nights will be the perfect opportunity. Look in the West at dusk, with the sun well down, and you will see bright Jupiter. Tonight Mercury will be to the right and a little lower; tomorrow night they will be about even. Both are easily visible to the naked eye.

They are a nice sight in a telescope, meaning, a transit or total station.

Mercury is never visible (to the naked eye) 15° above the horizon.
Because it's so close to the sun.

So, see it while you can!
