My sister in law and her boyfriend gave me a cool jigsaw puzzle for Christmas.

It's made by National Geographic and is an aerial view of my neighborhood.

In two nights i was able to get the border and Main St. completed.

The Puzzle is kind of small, about 12.5" by 18.5", but very challenging as so many pieces look alike!

The box doesn't give you a number of pieces count, or a size of the puzzle. I'm guessing maybe 350-500 pieces?

The center of the puzzle is the street address given to make the order and features a piece cut in the shape of a house. (and, Yes, that's my house!)

It was fun puzzle, and took me about 10 days to complete. That's not really daily plugging away, but more like a few pieces a day...

It was a very entertaining gift, now for the puzzle glue and a small frame..

Nifty idea. Might not work too well for someone in the middle of a forest or any virtually identical surroundings for a fair distance in any direction from the house.

I received the NatGeo quad map puzzle a couple of years ago. Same deal with the "house" piece at the home address. That was a pretty tough puzzle!

I do like this one, though, with the aerial photo.

That's a great gift idea! I wish I'de seen that in the NatGeo stuff the send me.

BTW, the puzzle is 24 pieces by 17 pieces from a count on the photo. That makes 408 pieces.

OH!! How cool is that!!!??
I used to love doing jigsaw puzzles.
Actually, I still do. I just haven't had one in about 20 years.

Someone should hit 4251 Logan Way, Acworth, GA on google maps.
Go to street view. It's not quite accurate so you need to travel west a hundred yards or so. Look to your left to see a black Chrysler Concord on your left (south) and a feller sitting in front of his front door with a Budweiser in hand.
That would be me. That would be a super funny puzzle for me to receive.
Ya reckon? 😀

I love NatGeo - both in mag and on TV. That reminds me. I need to renew
my mag subscription. Their TV shows often times fill in detail from some of their magazine articles. My particular favorite is the Naica crystal cave expidition.

Ok... now you all have me jonesing for a jigsaw puzzle.

The last one I did was some 7 years ago and it was one of those 3D thingies.
I had forgotten about that.
The old lady that gave it to me figured I could figure it out.
She had it looking ok, but it was messed up.
She'd spent about a week on it.
I tried to fix it or carry on with where she was going with it.
Just tear it down and start over and that is what I did.
I did the whole thing, a church with steeple, in about 2 hours.
When I called her to come get her church I got some mild cussing - all in fun.

But you all have me wanting to do another jigsaw puzzle.

I too think it is a great idea. Per the National Geographic Website:

http://shop.nationalgeographic.com/ngs/product/home/home-accents/personalized-aerial-map-jigsaw-puzzle

Some of the page says:

Put your home at the center of it all with this made-to-order map jigsaw. The 400-piece puzzle features a house-shaped center piece covering your chosen location. Spectacular satellite photography gives you a bird's-eye view of your surrounding community; just provide a full street address with zip code for the center point. The box also has space to write your own personal message, making it perfect for gift giving. Shows an area of 1 1/2 miles east to west and 1 mile north to south.

We had a puzzle one time that was a bowl of popcorn.

The puzzle was a circle about 15" diameter.

Yes sir!!! That would be me!!!

You used to be able to zoom in on me closer and could even tell I'm drinking a Budweiser.
I would love to have that puzzle but then I'd be cheating since I already know the picture.... well... I am in the picture. 😀
