Are any of you seeing an increase in major robberies?

We had a local bank robbed several weeks ago. A bank several hundred miles away was robbed in a similiar manner. Today a jewerly store was robbed and another bank at the other end of our county was robbed today as well.

So far the robbers have all gotten away.

One of our local banks now has an armed security guard posted on the sidewalk outside the bank. Kind of weird seeing something like that in a small town.

With 20%+ unemployment in our county, I am suprized we have not seen more of this.

I have noted that in the past year also.

The crooks are dumb though and aren't getting away with it. They're not planting enough of them in the process to leave a lasting impression IMHO.

I have seen a pretty significant increase in crime in my neighborhood. Just last week, three houses were robbed in one day during the daytime. As the story goes, a 53 inch tv was taken from one house. A state road crew was working a few hundred feet up the road. Nobody say a single solitary thing.....

Friday, we had a robbery in a town approx. 100 miles away. The guy stole a semi-truck used to pull a low-boy trailer. He came through my area going about 65mph with a front tire on the rim. I turned the scanner on and heard the CHP stating "I'm turing around in Portland" The guy made it over a steep grade and ran the truck off into a river. He waded out into the river and apparently drown. No body has been recovered.

I thought our "dear" President was taking care of that for us.... but not fast enough I guess for those who have been out of work for years and just can't support themselves any more.

huge increase in robberies on my street, and adjoining streets. my local is only three blocks away, and i don't stay there past dark. gangs of young knuckleheads, betwixt two and ten of them. they beat you, take your money, your shoes, and your pocket phone. two weeks ago, a young female was mugged outside the local, dragged behind an unoccupied house, and raped.

one man i know has been jumped five times by these goons. good thing for him he is MMA fighter, and has trained with Shogun Hua. one night they caught him with a baseball bat. now, half his teeth are on a payment plan.
