How do you know it was actually murder? How do you know she was murdered and not accidentally killed? I wasn't in the courtroom, but it seemed like there were alot of questions without answers.
I don't think I could personally condemn someone to death based on the shoddy investigation and poor prosecution in this case.
Dirty Laundry
I'm amazed by the people at the ready to throw the switch on the electric chair had this women been convicted and sentenced to die...all based on what the talking heads on the idiot box told them.

We (people in my area) have seen and heard "evidence" that no one else was privy to.
The jury from another county (I don't blame them) were not told everything.
The defense did it's job well, obfuscate. That's all it has to do to "win".

Well, maybe there is a good reason this "evidence" didn't make it to the courtroom...and if you heard this evidence from a second party that would make it hearsay, no?

Actually, I think this case shows that our society is broken, but maybe that is best left for another thread.

I agree, Sacker. Regardless if we, as a nation, agree or disagree with the jury's decision and the entire case for that matter, there's NO reason to be threatening anyone, including the jury, prosecuting & defense attorneys, and any other individual involved in this case. Hate breeds hate.
I do think though that some crazed zealot will try to bump her off to be able to claim fame and some sort of "heroism." No one wins in ANY of these situations... period.

Actually, the defense doesn't have to do ANYTHING......it's up to the prosecution to present a solid case.
If they didn't have it, they should have gone for lesser charges. Hindsight is 20-20, but how a prosecutor could have though this was a good case is not clear to me.
What gives?
I would bet this is not the last we hear of Ms. Anthony. For one thing, there is a whole media industry built up around her and her family now. For another thing, law enforcement has just spent a great deal of time and resources to bring her to justice without anything to show for it. With her apparently loose relationship with reality and legality, it's not going to take much more than a jay-walking rap to see her behind bars and back on the front page of the Enquirer. Remember OJ.

What I am hearing today with "who is going to get the first interview" is another wrong. At this point in time, I don't want to hear anything the girl has to say.
There is going to be too much said from guesswork in all the publications for a period of time and she will eventually have a fan club and soon somebody will want to marry her just because.
Just like OJ, Andrea Yates, Clara Harris, Menendez brothers and all the rest, someone will constantly give some respect to their deeds by paying homage in some misguided way.
